Basically, coffee varieties are the different forms in which the natural selection and breeding mechanisms of the coffee plant is recognized. Beans grown in different areas also mean that there will be existing coffee characteristics that are uniquely identified for that specific area. Some of which are flavor, acidity, body or mouth feel, and caffeine content. The mentioned characteristics tell something about the environment of the locality where the coffee plant was cultivated, the process involved in the plant growth, and the other subspecies present in that area.
The two widely recognized coffee varieties in the world are Arabica and Robusta. Coffee Arabica is said to have richer flavor and aroma as compared to Coffee Robusta.
